At Borderway on Monday 5th January, Harrison & Hetherington held their weekly sale of Primestock. A mixed show of 250 Prime cattle, bulls and cows were forward with trade being very dear for all classes. A larger show of 3129 prime sheep were forward to the usual ring side of buyers. A magnificent trade was experienced throughout with export lambs in demand due to the strength of the euro. A sale average of 170.54p was achieved. [report]

Harrison & Hetherington Ltd held their annual Christmas Sales of Poultry at Carlisle and Kirkby Stephen on Monday, 22nd December. Whether rough plucked or oven ready prices were buoyant with some birds making over £8.50 per kilo, large birds were at a premium with many attaining over £60. [report]

The catalogue for the sale of British Blue Cattle from the Bringlee Pedigree Herd including a guest consignment from the Crackley Bank Herd on Friday 16th January is now available.

The Border and Lakeland Holstein club sale on Wednesday 17th December was a total success for all involved. This venue once again proved that Borderway is the best place in the UK to purchase top quality Holstein cows and heifers in milk. Also in the sale were two excellent consignments of Montbeliarde cattle from two of the UK’s leading breeders. [report]
